If we continue this thread, we may want to move it off of the XDI mailing list since:

1.) it's not strictly speaking about the standard

2.) People who aren't on the list (like Mark Horstmieir, cc'd) ought to be in on the conversation.

I'm joining this thread late but wanted to say I think this will make an outstanding subject to discuss in an IIW session for those who will be there. In fact it sounds meaty enough that I'd volunteer to try to set it up for Skype participation by those who are not able to attend IIW in person.

Please reply back to this thread if you are interested in attending an IIW session on XDI database options remotely. Also indicate which of the following time slots would work best for you (all times are Pacific):

1) Wednesday afternoon, i.e., after 3PM PT

2) Thursday morning, i.e., between 10AM and 12:30PT

3) Thursday afternoon, i.e., after 1PM PT.

In any case, adding another backend store to either OpenXDI or XDI² should

not require much work I think.

If you implement both positive and negative tests for this list of features:

I assure you, it will take quite some time... Perhaps you don't need link contract evaluation in your Android XDI server? After you decide what persistence backend is best, then I think you need to figure out what operations and features will you implement, and then depending on your choice there, you can figure out how long it will take.

Regarding BDB... remember it supports transactions.
