Minutes: XDI TC Telecon Friday 2012-08-31
Following are the minutes of the unofficial telecon of the XDI TC at: Date: Friday, 31 August 2012 USA Time: 9:00AM - 10:30AM Pacific Time (16:00-17:30 UTC) ATTENDING Phil Windley Markus Sabadello Les Chasen Drummond Reed REGRETS Bill Barnhill Giovanni Bartolomeo Joseph Boyle THE ETHERPAD LINK FOR TODAY IS: http://piratepad.ca/UJ2gsFl78v ***** NEWS & UPDATES ***** --- Respect Network Update Delayed until next week. ***** PRESENTATIONS ***** --- XDI CONNECTOR EXAMPLE Markus and Drummond described an example XDI connector to a native data source as implemented in XDI2. They offered to do a live demo on a subsequent call. ***** DECISION POINT QUEUE REVIEW ***** The decision queue stack is now shown on the following three auto-generated Category pages: https://wiki.oasis-open.org/xdi/CategoryLastCall https://wiki.oasis-open.org/xdi/CategoryCurrent https://wiki.oasis-open.org/xdi/CategoryHighPriority Bill and Markus also added a number of proposals-to-do on: https://wiki.oasis-open.org/xdi/XdiPendingIssues ***** DECISION POINTS FOR THIS CALL ***** --- MULTIPLICITY (DRUMMOND) https://wiki.oasis-open.org/xdi/XdiMultiplicity See especially the notes about this revised proposal on the Discussion page at: https://wiki.oasis-open.org/xdi/XdiMultiplicity/Discussion We went over the new proposal, in particular the rationale for why there did not need to be syntax to distinguish between entity collections and attribute collections, but there still needs to be syntax to distinguish between entity singletons and attribute singletons, because the latter contains literals. So there was consensus among those on the call to proceed with this proposal. However we still need to check with Bill, Giovanni, and Joseph before putting it into Last Call. After the call, Markus had a thought about using a slightly different syntax for attribute singletons that are members of a collection. See the Multiplicity Discussion page for more. --- XDI ADD OPERATION (MARKUS) https://wiki.oasis-open.org/xdi/AddOperation This was differed to next week. ***** NEXT CALL ***** Drummond and Phil will be in Brussels next week, so they most likely will not be able to do a call, however that depends on confirmation of their schedule. Drummond will send a note to the list when they know. Bill may decide to still hold the call even if Drummond and Phil can't make it -- if so, he could hold a second review discussion of the Multiplicity proposal and also start discussion of the $add proposal.
