It is interesting that $ref $rep & (any others?) are in a way on a par as mutually exclusive ways of providing a value.
Are these the only ways to provide a value?
Should /$ref/ or /$rep/ and &/&/ be more similar syntactically?
Another thought - since literal nodes (can we just say value nodes) have almost no properties other than their value (no outgoing arcs, only one incoming arc that must be &) they are very dissimilar to context nodes. Is there any point in having a separate node for the value? Suppose we just regard the value as a property of the parent context node instead of an extra arc and node - would we lose anything?
