144? That one, in my opinion, is just an editorial fix (fixing an inconsistency).
Changing the default for translate is a major change: It implies a lot of coding re-work.
Why not add a new item? Maybe it can be labeled differently to ensure we track the fact it is an internal TC comment rather than an external public comment with time restriction.
