Half way there! (RE: [xliff] Groups - Ballot closed: "Approve new XLIFF V2.0 COS and submit to OASIS membership")

TC Members, Chet,

 

As I read this note an unanticipated wave of joy, sense of accomplishment (on a TC level), and excitement rushed through me. Three things come to mind that
 I want to share with you:

 

(1)   
I am incredibly grateful that this amazing TC did such amazing work, and that we have what I believe to be a nearly perfect spec on the verge of becoming
 a standard. Heartfelt gratitude to each of you.

(2)   
We are not out of the woods yet. The officers will be calling on each of you to help kiss babies and twist arms across the OASIS membership to make
 sure enough members vote to pass this great standard.

As you see, the Special Majority Vote to approve XLIFF V2.0 COS02 and submit it to the OASIS membership for a vote has passed. 

 

I plan to set up and announce the OS ballot on Monday with the ballot opening on Tuesday. This is so that it won't get buried under everyone's weekend email traffic. The ballot will run for 15 days from opening.

Description

XLIFF Version 2.0 COS01 [2] completed its 60 day public review and received comments [3]. The TC has made changes to the Candidate OASIS Standard to address these comments. In accordance with section 3.4.2, ‘Public Review of a Candidate OASIS Standard’ of the
 OASIS TC Process [4], the TC affirms that: 

(a) Working Draft 05 of XLIFF Version 2.0 [1] contains changes from Candidate OASIS Standard 01 [2];

(b) The changes are documented in comments 300 to 305 in [3]; 

(c) The changes are Non-Material; and 

(d) The changes were made ONLY to address the comments received during the public review period.

Do you now approve

This ballot requires a Special Majority Vote. The TC roster currently lists 13 voting members. In order to pass, at least 9 (2/3 x 13) members have to vote Yes and no more than 3 (1/4 x 13) members may vote No.
