Re: [xmile] Inviting nominations for Chair of XMILE TC

Hi Chet.

I am nominating Steve Adler as co-chair of the 
XMILE Technical Committee.  Steve is Information Strategist at IBM, in 
charge of Data Governance, Big Data, Open Data, and System Dynamics.  It
 was Steve's dogged determination that led to the formation of this 
technical committee.  While we were working on a standard within the 
system dynamics community, his vision for both the role of XMILE in the 
broader world and the future of system dynamics convinced me and many 
others of the value in creating an open standard with a larger standards
 organization.  Steve believes that systems thinking can substantively 
improve many aspects of our daily lives and that the creation of the 
XMILE standard is a critical step in the wide-spread adoption of system 
dynamics methodologies and models.

Steve will be a fabulous co-chair and I wholeheartedly support his nomination.

The first order of business at the first TC meeting is to elect a chair (or two co-chairs). If you are interested in serving as a Chair or in nominating another individual for the position of Chair, you are welcome to make that candidacy known prior to the first meeting by posting a note to the TC's e-mail list expressing your interest and/or intent along with a brief statement of your or their qualifications. The meeting will also accept nominations from any qualified persons before beginning the vote.
