A market view

Hello,

I am trying to build a market view of the developers world. Up to now I got
these numbers:

Microsoft tool users : 6 to 7 million users (main languages Visual Basic,
C++, C#)
Java tool users : 1.5 to 2 million users
Perl developers ?
Python developers ?
XML framework developers ?

If the last three market segments are limited to a few thousand or less than
100 000, then its obvious that the architecture promoted by the java and
Microsoft world leads the world. They create the mainstream trends.
