Thanks - this makes a very useful and counter-intuitive point, relevent
to SOAP and beyond. I remember thinking that XML looked like it would,
indeed should, be good at allowing XML documents to contain XML
documents, and then discovering the hard way that it just ain't so. Your
analysis made me realise that I now consider "linked, packaged
documents" and "nested documents" to be a pattern / anti-pattern pair,
and I reckon justified the time I spent reading xml-dev today!
