I believe it's a usability problem, but it's not the one I'm addressing.
No one has yet answered the question.....do we *really* expect the average
document author (who has not written, nor may even have control of, the
DTD) to add internal/external subsets in order to use a frequently needed
character?
That's what we're asking of people, and I think we've failed if we leave it
at that.
I'll have to leave the argument at that point -- as I'm headed out for a
much-anticipated vacation -- rather than worrying about entities, I'll be
blowing bubbles while poking around some shipwrecks off St. Maarten.
