DTD Attribute Enumerated list with a empty value.

How do you define in a DTD  an attribute with an enumerated list of values
being one of them the empty string.
It seems that <!ATTLIST attrib (val1|val2|EMPTY)> doesn't work and haven't
found in the spec an escape sequence for
the empty string.
