There is a draft xpointer scheme which is sort of xpath-like

http://www.w3.org/TR/xptr-xpointer/

and a registry of other xpointer schemes

http://www.w3.org/2005/04/xpointer-schemes/

which lists xpath1 and xpath2 schemes. Of course specifying the scheme
isn't the same thing as saying current tools implement it.
