Transforming a DTD to XML syntax (Tree)

I need to parse a DTD, but starting from the root node (and then children : 
from left to right -> prefix). So the solution is to transform the a tree 
with an XML Syntax. Does anyone have an idea how to do that with Java, or is 
there any API that does that ?
