You missed my earlier reply. Such a change has enormous impact, but not on
XSLT or XPath. For example it means that people with Pascal applications
(say) who are using a Pascal XML parser produced by a vendor who has gone
out of business would have to rewrite their applications to accept XML 1.x
documents that use the new syntax.
