XML 2.0? (was 2007 Predictions)

Associated with the 2007 Predictions thread, I've noticed a few
articles from the last couple years discussing the possibility of XML
2.0 being considered by W3C.

Will we see, in 2007, some sort of public announcement of this
development activity, should it even exist now?
