For XSLT and XQuery I've also successfully used nailgun, a free/libre
package that runs a server that keeps one or more java virtual machines
ready and waiting, and starts a new one afterwards. For a reasonably
low-traffic Web site or for command-line usage this works well.

Cloud, n., a marketing device whereby people put their mission-critical 
assets on someone else's computer without knowing exactly whose or
where, in order to increase privacy and security risks and to be able
to fire the people who knew how to manage the data safely.
