DOM + line numbers

I know it's possible in Java to build a DOM tree out of a SAX
ContentHandler and store the line/column number into the DOM3 UserData
field.

Has anyone actually packaged this up as an open source library
anywhere? All I find on the Web are examples of doing this, no
finished products.
