Re: [xri] New XRI Service
Les, this is NOT spam, this is a progress report. (And a great reason to remind everyone that after XRD 1.0 comes XRI 3.0 since that's what we've been depending on for a long time.)

Congrats, Les, this looks really cool. On next week's telecon, would you be able to do a short overview for us on what you built and lessons learned?

Best,

Hey all –

First let me apologize for spamming the TC list.  I
don’t intend to spam.  I thought you all may like to know about a
service implementation that is built using XRI.

One of the reasons I have been lax in my attendance at out TC
meetings is that I have been working on making [1] happen.  Neustar has
launched a Mobile Barcode Clearinghouse that enables interoperable services
between multiple participants such as brands, campaign managers, carriers and
service providers.  While barcodes have been around for awhile they have
mostly been direct URL’s to some webpage.  We are employing an
indirect model where behavior is more dynamic.  For more info please see
[2]

The most important part of this is that the code under the
2d image is an i-name.  XRI is the core infrastructure to make this
happen.  Every barcode is an XRI with an i-name, i-number and XRDS.
