admon graphics cause error with PassiveTex

Hi,

was there an answer to this post of Tim Waugh (I can't find one)?

Switching the graphics on with 

<xsl:param name="admon.graphics" select="'1'"></xsl:param>

causes the same error in my environment ("LaTeX Error: Something's
wrong--perhaps a missing \item." and then "Emergency stop.").

Toolchain:
SuSE Linux 8.1
Java(TM) 2 Runtime Environment, Standard Edition (build 1.4.2-b28)
Xalan Java 2.4.1
docbook-xsl-1.62.0
passivetex-2002.8.11-15 (SuSE RPM)

BTW: How can I find out, which version of PassiveTex I'm actually using (Tim
Waugh e.g. wrote "passivetex 1.24")
