db 4.5, table cell widths.

Using db 4.5 I'm trying to generate smaller widths in the columns

db5 says colgroup width="0*" will minimise columns.
colgroup isn't getting me far with 4.5

How can I specify the column widths, for html output, using the html 
table model please.
