In the US, a jurisdiction is required to retain records for
22 months (a federal standard) for federal elections; non-federal elections fall
under state/local rules but most use the same requirement.  Some states
require destruction of records following that period.  This might be an
example of what was being sought but I don't know if that is truly what the
submitter had in mind.

John,

Richard raised this - but I'm baffled.  Once you make something public
- you cannot undo that!

I thought it might be a legal date up to which someone can request
access to records - but again - I'm not sure that's something we'd have charter
over.

We may just have to table this one.

Thanks, DW

Here's the extract from the originator of this item:

" I also have a need to store a date range in which it is
permissible for results to be displayed. "

So you read into that what you will.  We may need to clarify it with
  the author.

As for the time range
(item 10) I would guess that is a time past
which it is permissible (by
  law, regulation or procedure) to
display/report results, no? best,
  Joe
