Hello, LegalXML Member Section Steering
Committee members:

 

Our next telephone meeting is scheduled
for Wednesday, November 10, 2004, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern
Time (11:00 a.m. Pacific). Remember, we recently made
this change, and now our regular teleconference meeting is the Second Wednesday
of each month at 2:00 p.m. Eastern.

 

For December, however, we are to have a
face-to-face meeting in Las Vegas in conjunction with the E-Courts conference
the National Center for State Courts is holding there and face-to-face meetings
of some of our Member Section technical committees. 

 

The Steering Committee will meet on Friday afternoon, December 17, 2004. For our previous face-to-face
meeting, we voted to reimburse Steering Committee members, particularly public
sector, for the travel, lodging, and per diem expenses for which budgeted funds
could not be obtained from their agencies. We will need to vote in advance on
what we will authorize for reimbursement. John Greacen has asked me to collect estimated reimbursement amounts
from you in advance, so we can vote on that at our November 10 meeting. 

 

If you will need reimbursement in order to attend the
face-to-face, please send me your estimated expenses, categorized for 1)
transportation, 2) lodging, 3) per diem, and 4) other (explain). Below is
information that should help you to build your reimbursement estimate. Please send me your estimated reimbursement request by
mid-day Tuesday, November 9, so I can send a list to the Steering Committee
prior to the next day's phone meeting.

 

1) Transportation - This will vary with
individual location and circumstances. Please obtain estimates for your own travel
expenses that would have to be covered by this reimbursement, plus any ground
transportation required.

 

2) Lodging - The meeting location will be the Mirage
[3400 S. Las
  Vegas Blvd.,
 Las Vegas, NV 89109, Room Reservations: (800) 374-9000, General
Information: (702) 791-7111]. Robin Gibson has advised that hotel room rates
are $67/night except that Friday night is $129. Indicate which nights need to
be covered by Steering Committee reimbursement. (If attending E-Courts 2004,
only cite the lodging costs required to enable attendance at the Steering
Committee.)

 

3) Per diem - The federal rate for Las Vegas for M&IE (Meals and
Incidental Expenses) is $43 (fiscal 2005, effective October 1, 2004). 

 

4) Other - If you have other expenses you believe
the Steering Committee should authorize for reimbursement, please provide
details and rationale for the claim. 

 

Again, please send me your estimated reimbursement request
no later than mid-day Tuesday, November 9. I will prepare a list on which the
Steering Committee can base its vote November 10.
