Anish,

Regarding the added Note about the case
where a reference cannot accept callbacks from a service.

Maybe I'm being a bit dense here, but
surely such a case cannot use the mechanics described in this

proposal at all?  The way that
Note is written implies that it is possible to combine a technique like

polling with the mechanics of this mechanism
- have I misunderstood something?
