The dictionary definition of anecdote makes it clear that anecdotes are
singular, thus lacking in statistical weight. It seems as if that's the
main issue here - scientific evidence demands repeatability. I do tend
to agree that anecdotes are evidence - just not quantitative evidence.
They're still better than lies though, or even damn lies, which I've
been told are a sight worse than statistics...
