They shouldn’t be deleted. Moved is
fine if it doesn’t impact the url.
As far as convenience to the TC members
linking from the issue list directly to the draft is a lot nicer for users than
just giving them the long name and asking them parse out the version/status
info and go find it themselves. Believe me, I’m more than happy not to do
it as it makes less work for me. I don’t think the TC members would be
very happy with that approach though. I believe we were already asked as a TC
to provide the link to the exact version a proposal or issue pertains to so not
using that in the issue list might be frowned upon even further by some of the
members.

I thought we could delete files from Kavi?
As it stands I don't think we should be linking from the issues list into
working drafts. If an issue or proposal needs to refer to a part of a working
draft it should do so by doc identifier (i.e. wsrm-1.1-spec-wd-06.pdf) and line
number. The rule should be that, once the editors publish a draft to the TC,
they should never publish another version of a draft with the same version
number. As for issues and proposals that refer to previous versions, perhaps we
should scan the issues and action items list for references to a version before
we remove it from the Editors Drafts folder?
Just thinking outloud really . . . my goal
is to make it really easy for everyone in the TC to find the documents we want
the to look at.

Where would you suppose the previous
versions go? Moving them by copy and delete would have a negative impact on
links from places like the issue list. I’m afraid the way Kavi works once
you put something somewhere you need to leave there.

I think it's a good idea and we may not
have to consult the TC just for deciding a folder for the CDs. But can we wait
until tomorrow which is when the ballot for CD closes and CDs would
be officially born (hopefully).

Not sure if this is an "editors issue" or a
"TC issue" but the TC Document page is getting kind of crufty. Its
hard to figure out which document is which when you look at the page. Leaving
the other folder aside for the moment, I think the "Editors Drafts"
folder should only contain the following:
1.) latest WDs of wsrm and wsrmp as published by the editors
2.) diffs of the lastest WD against the previous document
(WD or CD)
I think the Committee Drafts should be placed in their own
folder. This folder should contain
1.) the latest CDs of wsrm and wsrmp as approved by the TC
2.) diffs of the latest CD against the previous CD or
submission document
Comments?
If we decide to do this, do we need the TCs approval or can
the chairs just ok it?
